Hi all from beautiful London. We have arrived safe and sound! The flight was non-eventful, except for a poor little girl beside us who wouldn't settle down. I did managed to get some sleep, but not much. When we landed, it took a while to clear customs, but once we got to the front of the line, there were no problems. We were met at the arrival gate by a nice gentleman holding paper with our name on it. This was a first for me!
On the way to the Hotel the driver pointed out a lot of the sites for me and taught us how to pronounce Buckingham. He said the way we pronounced it said TOURIST. We emphasized the HAM when you are suppose to emphasize the BUCK. Traffic was crazy, as our driver explained they had an incident this morning. Security was everywhere.
We arrived at our hotel, the Rennaissance Chancery Court, and met our guides Andrew and Francesc. They described things briefly and then gave us passes to the London Eye. Kirstyn and I took a cab there and exchanged our voucher for tickets. As we were hungry and Kirstyn doesn't do motion well on an empty stomach, we picked up some muffins and drinks. People warned me that London was expensive, however, over 12 pounds for two muffins and two pops! That's around $25. The view from the London Eye was amazing. We got a great view of Big Ben, which is actually the name of the Bell not the clock! After the flight (that's what they call it) we were going to walk around, but thought we would be wiser to come back to the room and rest before dinner. Sounded like a plan but here I am typing on my blog instead. So much for napping. We did have a present waiting for us when we got back. A nice bag with some gifts. I would post what we got, but I don't want to ruin it for others.
Tonight we have a welcome dinner/party in half an hour. I really should get ready. I have taken lots of pictures, and would post some, however, my battery died on the camera and is recharging as we speak. I will add in photos when the battery is charged. Take care!
PS: Our room is the two right most round windows in the picture below!

Dear MJGirl,
While trying to study I cannot concentrate and decide to Google for our holiday in August, transatlantic on the Disney Magic!
Great to read all reports and reviews online. I look forward to reading your reports too!
Enjoy your stay in London and Paris, both great, yet very different cities.
Have a wonderful and safe trip!
BJ
