Day 2 - Jolly Holiday

Hi again... Only have 10 minutes, so time for a quick post. Today was a busy day. I woke up at 6 am, which sounds rather early, but I went to bed at 8:15 last night. I was really tired due to the limited sleep that I really needed it.

This morning we had breakfast at the hotel, then met in the lobby at 8:30 am. We all loaded onto a traditional English double decker. They took us on a tour of London and our first stop was Westminster Abbey, the place where Kings and Queens are baptized, crowned, married, and buried. We saw the tomb of Elizabeth the First, Sir Isaac Newton, William Shakespeare (although his body was actually buried elsewhere) and many more. We couldn't take photos in the actual church, only outside.

After the Abbey, we went over to Buckingham Palace. The changing of the guard was cancelled due to rain, so we didn't get to see it. We did see a demonstration of the Battle of Waterloo at the Guard Museum though. We walked around the Gardens, saw the palace where Charles and Camilla reside, saw a british guard and then boarded back on the bus for our next stop, Harrods.

At Harrods, we enjoyed English Tea, and shopping. I got Kirstyn her birthday present there. A beautiful necklace. Tonight we are off to Mary Poppins. I have to meet the gang soon, so I'll post more later. Plus photos. I promise.

By the way, a side note for Karen. The name you are looking for is Whalley. Thanks.
